photos - Kota Lama Semarang

It is incomplete, when visit to Semarang without walk around the old buildings in Kota Lama. These buildings mark the beginning of the formation of the entire government and economic activity in Central Java. At that time, the Dutch made this region as a trading center, where access can be connected with the sea by river which surrounds these buildings up to Pecinan. Whereas in the case of government affairs, the Bleduk Church became the center, remember when the church was involved in government.
Unfortunately, during the rainy season, this area is often inundated caused at least water infiltration and that there is poor sanitation. In fact, if treated properly, it is not impossible the Kota Lama will be the history of assets that benefit tourism industry in Semarang City Government.

These photos were taken in a series of events "Hunting Imlek" with Photography Unit UGM (UFO), February 2010.
